Gutterballs 2: Balls Deep

Postby Plotdigger » Fri Oct 09, 2009 11:45 pm

Howdy folks!

I just finished reading the first draft of the "Gutterballs 2: Balls Deep" screenplay and I must say that writer and fellow Plotdigger alumini Jordan Boos has done a fucking sick and insanely twisted job on the script! My idea of "Gutterballs 2" taking place at a waterslide park has been realizied on paper. Without giving too much away, Jordan has created some very ispired set-pieces that rival the original kills in "Gutterballs" and the sex, well, lets just say that fans nude cinematic flesh won't be disappointed ;) I anticipate getting into production on GB2 in the Spring of 2010...I have a movie to shoot prior, more than likely our zombie hooker abortion "Done to Death" or the creature feature "Alarming"....but in anycase, look for further casting news in regards to GB2 very soon...some familiar faces will be back and also a bunch of new flesh to exploit!

Peace and Gore!

Thanks!

For those who want to know, I've tried to preserve everything that people loved about Gutterballs while also addressing certain criticisms of the first one. I can guarantee the gore is extreme and the '80s feeling and colourful look are definitely preserved from Gutterballs. The feeling is similar to the early Friday the 13th movies; GB2 takes place in broad daylight at a sunny, colourful, '80s-styled location, with a whodunit storyline and a cast of really fun, bad-taste characters who you'd want to watch even if they weren't being slaughtered. It has a more overtly comedic tone than the first one, at least before the corpses start piling up. The gore will not disappoint... these kills aren't just epic, they're historic.

Reading this gets me even more stoked for it. Gutterballs is already a classic.

Is it safe to say there won't be as much profanity this time around? I didn't mind it, but that seemed to be the most critical aspect of the first Gutterballs. Anyways, sounds like you've written a fantastic piece of cinema and I'm looking forward to seeing it. Bring on the slaughter!

Haha, there is some profanity in GB2, but not anywhere near Gutterballs 1's level -- I couldn't compete with that. This movie has plenty of other, brand-new ways to be crude.

Gutterballs 2 is going to happen in spring 2011 rather than 2010. 2010's got a host of other PD projects in the works, though -- Murder Mack, Famine, possibly Alarming and another untitled co-production project. Gonna be a busy year for Plotdigger. There's something for everyone, as long as everyone likes a fuckload of blood.

i wouls like to know that in GB2 would there be a bowling alley anywhere in or around the water park? i mean in the first BBK had an infinite supply of choice weapons for the interesting type of murderer he is. or is it planned for him to possibly have a hideout full of tools of the trade on the park property?
either i don't expect all kills to be bowling themed this time while theres all tose awesome and fun as hell possibilities in a water park. either way i'll back it fully and enjoy every second of it just like i did the first and laugh my ass off as well.

I'm sure they'll be plenty of weapons and crazy kills. I can think of many awesome things to make some blood spill at a waterpark.

Haha I wouldn't want to give away any of the kills, but let's just say our new villain is plenty creative both on land and in the water! As you say, the setting lets you get creative.

Oh yes, many nasty fluids will gush. Mostly blood, but with some surprises as well...

It would be awesome if there was a death scene where BBK electrifies the water in a dunk tank or put spikes at the bottom of it. You know, since it takes place at a water park. Is there going to be a "bootleg" version of the movie with a kick-ass 1980s soundtrack like the first? Loverboy and Bachman-Turner Overdrive are two of my favorite bands and hearing their music in GUTTERBALLS was sick.

Apparently the new PIRAHNA 3D movie is going to be set at a water park. Curious coincidence! We may have to rewrite certain elements of this one (or all of them) depending on how that film plays out.

Motherfuckers beat us to the punch!

That's terrible! I'm sure you'll find a way to make it work though, even if you do have to make a few changes. One thing to consider is using the PIRANHA sequel's water park setting to your advantage -- perhaps parodying it or referencing it in one way or another. Whatever you guys do, I'm sure it'll be great. GUTTERBALLS is one of my favorite movies, and I'm the kind of person who loves well-crafted, over-glossed Hollywood movies too (my favorite movie is WHAT'S EATING GILBERT GRAPE). I also liked LIVE FEED and HANGER. I thought TORCHED was kind of lame and BLEADING LADY was acceptable but one thing's for sure -- Nicholson and his crew are the most promising filmmakers to come from the underground horror industry. I can't wait for ALARMING either.

Man that really blows. I sure hope that it doesn't affect Gutterballs 2 in any huge way :(
The water park idea sounded so cool for the sequel.
