12.01.09 — TORCHED: DELAYED :(

We've got some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that Torched has been delayed from its initial Nov. 24th street-date a few weeks due to manufacturing difficulties. Ryan would like to extend his sincerest apologies. This sucks for us as much as it sucks for you, believe me; we sure hate to disappoint fans as dedicated, as hardcore and, in some cases, as heavily-armed as yourselves.

But there is good news! All Torched orders that we received before November 24th will include all kinds of great free stuff as compensation for the delay. Rare buttons, pins, postcards, whatever limited-edition stuff we can dig up! This gear, like the film itself, is exclusive and hard to find, and it'll be included with your package free of charge.

We understand if you desire refunds due to the delay, but we hope you'll bear with us just a couple more short weeks. Your commitment to independent horror and your faith in Plotdigger Films is much appreciated in any case. Please contact Ryan (plotdigger@gmail.com) if you have any questions or concerns.

11.09.09 — STAR VEHICLE ART, PODCAST AND MORE Star Vehicle poster

A few new things this week: We've just received the official art for the German release of Star Vehicle, and it looks sick as hell, capturing the suspenseful Hollywod flavour of the film.

From Dread Media comes a new podcast featuring Lloyd Kaufman and Ryan Nicholson, captured during their attendance of the Victoria Comicon over Halloween Weekend. Ryan discusses the upcoming films Hanger, Star Vehicle, Gutterballs II and Done to Death. Check out Podcast 114 here!

The reviews of Hanger keep pouring in, including writeups from Z-Man at Horror News and a video review from Russ at Slasher Club. The critical consensus is in: Hanger is a highly recommended slice of sleaze!

Also, Hanger will be receiving a special theatrical screening in Calgary on November 14, courtesy of Burning Moon Video. If you're in the area, check it; it's one night only!

10.22.09 — THE FIRST LOOK AT "HANGER"

A few lucky critics have received copies of the upcoming Hanger (due November 17) and now the reviews are coming in. First we have Preston at FilmBizarro.Com and Bryan at Shu-Izmz. More to come!

"The movie is a great entertaining trash-fest that has come the closest to being a true throwback to grindhouse cinema that any movie has so far. It has a great revenge theme that has our characters disposing of various antagonist until they get to the man they're really after. It isn't afraid to cross the line and have strong sexual content, especially given that part of the story revolves around prostitution. Then it changes things up by throwing humor into the mix and trying to get the audience to laugh at some rather unpleasent material."— FilmBizarro.Com

09.22.09 — RYAN NICHOLSON AT VICTORIA COMICON!

Ryan will be in attendance at Victoria Comics Convention, Victoria's biggest convention for comics, sci-fi, fantasy, horror, anime and nerdy good fun. He's been invited to speak at a panel on special effects and makeup, and will be in attendance for the run of the con (the weekend of October 30 to November 1) at an official Plotdigger booth, where you'll find rare items, special merchandise and signed DVDs of all your favourite Plotdigger movies. Also in attendance are other noted horror personalities including Troma overlord Lloyd Kaufman and "Buffy" makeup/FX master Todd McIntosh. See you there!

WHO ARE WE?

Plotdigger Films Inc. is a Vancouver, Canada-based independent film production company specializing in horror films. Our mission is to create mind-boggling, stomach-churning films that will leave the viewing audience permanently scarred. With blowtorch-crazed babes, cannibalistic crime bosses, bowling-bag butchers and alleyway abortions, Plotdigger Films explores the depths of deviance. With our graphic and ultra-violent content, Plotdigger Films believes in showing everything, uncut and unrated — the way horror films are meant to be.

Our content is shocking to some and offensive to others. The choice to view is yours. At Plotdigger Films, less isn't more... more is fucking more.

Plotdigger Films debuted in 2004 with the nightmarish Torched followed by 2006's Live Feed and 2008's Gutterballs, all of which have become underground sensations and shown that low-budget, independent Canadian films can rock the horror community. Plotdigger Films will soon be releasing Hanger, which will raise the bar for sick grindhouse flicks and draw new fans like flies on rotten meat.

Plotdigger Films is on its way to becoming an international fan favorite and will continue to provide the horror audience with the films they want to see. Next on the agenda: Star Vehicle, Done to Death, Gutterballs II: Balls Deep and more!
